Prices, Licences and Subscription Packages for Report K*
Report K* is a series of specialised analytical publications issued by the Sir Roger Penrose Institute for Interdisciplinary Sciences, devoted to the long-term consequences of technological development, systemic change, civilisational processes and phenomena of high strategic importance.
The price of publications in the Report K* series is not determined by the number of pages or by the publication format. Each volume is an independent expert analysis whose value results from the scope of the study, the originality of the methodology, the significance of the problem, its prognostic value, the level of specialisation and the possible use of the report in scientific, expert, institutional, media or strategic work.
The prices of individual volumes may vary depending on the nature of the publication. The values below are reference prices used to determine the prices of packages, subscriptions and licences.
Reference Prices of Individual Volumes
| Publication category | Reference price for an individual licence |
|---|---|
| Regular volume of the Report K* series | from PLN 3,000 |
| Special volume of the Report K* series | from PLN 2,400 |
| Regular volume of high strategic, technological or methodological value | from PLN 4,500 |
| Special volume of high decision-making or strategic urgency | from PLN 3,600 |
| Extended monograph / breakthrough volume | from PLN 7,500 |
| Dedicated report or analysis prepared on request | individual quotation |
The prices of individual volumes are determined separately each time. A regular volume does not mean a publication of lower value than a special volume. In the Report K* series, a regular volume may cover a broader analytical scope, a larger number of modules and a more developed prognostic structure than a special volume.
A special volume is a publication focused on one specific problem, event, systemic threshold or situation requiring separate analysis. Its price depends on the importance of the topic, the urgency of the issue and the scope of the study.
Publication Format
| Format | Pricing rule |
|---|---|
| The price refers to the content and the scope of the licence, not to the file itself. | |
| Printed edition | The price may be equal to the PDF price if the licence scope is the same. |
| PDF + printed edition | The package may be priced higher due to the availability of two forms of use. |
| Foreign-language editions | Sold separately, unless the package description states otherwise. |
The format of the publication does not reduce the value of the report. PDF, printed edition and foreign-language edition contain the same analytical value; therefore, the basis of the price is the content, the scope of the licence and the manner of use of the publication.
Types of Licences
Purchasing a publication does not automatically grant the right to further share, send, copy, upload to repositories, intranets, internal systems, training materials or team resources. The scope of permitted use depends on the type of licence purchased.
| Type of licence | Intended for | Basic scope |
|---|---|---|
| Individual licence | natural persons | use by one person |
| Expert licence | experts, journalists, analysts, authors | professional use by one person, without redistribution |
| Single-copy institutional licence | institutions, organisations, public entities | use by one designated person, position or unit |
| Team / departmental licence | analytical teams, editorial offices, law firms, strategy departments | use by a specified number of users |
| Library licence | scientific, academic and institute libraries | access in accordance with the scope of the library licence |
| Academic / teaching licence | universities, lecturers, educational units | use in teaching without the right to provide the full PDF to students |
| Corporate / strategic licence – License Implementation Document | companies, funds, international organisations, large institutions | scope determined individually |
Detailed terms and conditions for individual licenses are described in separate license documents located at the link in the table above.
Subscription Periods
Report K* is published cyclically. The basic point of reference for subscription packages is a regular volume published every two months.
For this reason, the Institute applies three basic subscription periods:
| Subscription period | Duration | Number of regular volumes |
|---|---|---|
| Tertial subscription | 4 months | 2 regular volumes |
| Half-year subscription | 6 months | 3 regular volumes |
| Annual subscription | 12 months | 6 regular volumes |
The Institute does not use a classic quarterly subscription, because the publication rhythm of regular volumes is bimonthly. The four-month period, referred to as a tertial subscription, corresponds to the natural cycle of two regular volumes and allows new recipients to assess the nature of the series without purchasing a full annual subscription.
Individual Subscriptions
An individual subscription is intended for one natural person. It does not include the right to make publications available to other persons, teams, institutions, editorial offices or organisations.
| Package | Includes | Reference price |
|---|---|---|
| Individual Tertial | 2 regular volumes | PLN 5,400 |
| Individual Half-Year | 3 regular volumes | PLN 7,800 |
| Individual Annual | 6 regular volumes | PLN 14,400 |
Expert Subscriptions
An expert subscription is intended for persons who use reports in professional activity, in particular experts, analysts, journalists, commentators, authors, consultants, creators of expert materials, podcasts, analyses, lectures or publications.
An expert subscription allows reports to be used as a source for one’s own work, with the obligation to properly cite the source. It does not include the right to further distribute publications or to create materials that substitute the purchase of the report.
| Package | Includes | Reference price |
|---|---|---|
| Expert Tertial | 2 regular volumes | PLN 6,800 |
| Expert Half-Year | 3 regular volumes | PLN 9,800 |
| Expert Annual | 6 regular volumes | PLN 18,000 |
Single-Copy Institutional Subscriptions
A single-copy institutional subscription is intended for an institution, organisation or unit that uses the publication within a limited scope, without the right to internally redistribute PDF files or make the publication available to an entire team, department, editorial office, university, law firm, company or organisation.
Multi-user access requires a team, departmental, library, academic or corporate licence.
| Package | Includes | Reference price |
|---|---|---|
| Institutional Tertial | 2 regular volumes | PLN 8,400 |
| Institutional Half-Year | 3 regular volumes | PLN 12,000 |
| Institutional Annual | 6 regular volumes | PLN 22,000 |
Team and Departmental Subscriptions
Team and departmental subscriptions are intended for analytical teams, editorial offices, law firms, strategy departments, think tanks, expert offices, research organisations and other entities in which reports are used by more than one person.
The licence scope determines the maximum number of users authorised to use the publication. The licence does not include the right to further share the publication beyond the specified group of users.
| Licence scope | Tertial | Half-year | Annual |
|---|---|---|---|
| up to 3 users | PLN 14,000 | PLN 20,000 | PLN 36,000 |
| up to 5 users | PLN 21,000 | PLN 30,000 | PLN 54,000 |

If the Institute publishes more than three special volumes during the subscription period, the subscriber may purchase additional special volumes on preferential terms specified in the price list or in an individual offer of the Institute.

Support Programmes
The Institute operates support programmes enabling partial co-financing of access to publications, licences and subscription packages of Report K*. Support is granted on the basis of separate regulations, within the resources available under the Fund for Research and Systemic Analysis Support.
Co-financing is not a commercial discount or an automatic price reduction. It is a form of targeted support for access to knowledge, granted after an application has been assessed.
Final Information
The prices indicated on this page are reference prices and may change depending on the nature of the publication, the scope of the licence, the number of users, the access format, the language edition and the specific terms of the order.
The Institute reserves the right to individually price volumes, licences, access packages, subscriptions, dedicated reports and analyses prepared on request.
